A unique, definable, abstract idea that describes a category of objects (i.e. box), class of entities (i.e. woman), or the relationships between them (i.e. is a child of). Concepts have very specific, known meaning and are labeled using terms and codes. Multiple different terms and codes can be used to label the same concept.
